Check-In Guide

Check-in is at 4:00 PM, unless special arrangements have been made in advance with the host.

Keys

There are no physical keys to the house. The entry doors (front & back) are equipped with Yale Smart Locks. When your Airbnb confirmation was confirmed, you were given a passcode that was set to the last four digits of your phone number listed on your Airbnb account. Access will be programmed to your check-in time and will end at your check-out time on your designated check-out date.

Wi-Fi Calling

The cell phone coverage in the area is poor, especially when inside the home. Please ensure you connect to the Wi-Fi on your phone and enable Wi-Fi calling in the phone settings (if you do not already have it enabled). To connect to the internet, follow the Internet Access Guide.

Mail Services

We are living outside the state currently, so our mail is forwarded to another address. This means that USPS cannot deliver to the mailbox. If you are wanting to deliver something to the home, please use FedEx or UPS and have them deliver to the front porch. Amazon will sometimes deliver through USPS rather than their own delivery service, so you will want to have Amazon packages be delivered to a local Amazon box location.

Alexa Commands

The kitchen, living room, and backyard have lights that are connected to an Amazon Alexa hub. The following are a list of commands to turn on/off various lighting.

  • Welcome Home - when you first walk into the living room area, Alexa will light up both the living room and kitchen.

  • Lights On/Off  - the kitchen cabinets, living room lamp, and TV backlighting will turn on or off.

  • Kitchen On/Off - controls all lights connected in the kitchen.

  • Living Room On/Off - controls all lights connected in the living room.

  • Lamp On/Off - controls the lamp in the living room.

  • TV On/Off - controls the backlighting on the TV.

  • Backyard On/Off - controls the string lights on the fence in the backyard.

  • Lock/Unlock Doors - controls both the front and back doors of the home. You can specify each door as well, just say Front Door or Back Door.

  • Goodnight - Alexa will turn off all the lights (except the upper cabinets in the kitchen) and lock both front and back doors. Use this command when going to bed each night.

Late Check-Out

If you need some extra time to check out of the house, please let us know 48 hours before your departure date. We cannot guarantee we can accommodate a late check-out because another guest may be scheduled to arrive that day and the cleaning service needs time to turn the home over.

Trash Pickup Day

The trash bins are located on the south side of the home next to the air conditioner on the concrete pathway. Pickup occurs early on Wednesday mornings, so move the trash bins to the curb on Tuesday night. If you are checking in on a Wednesday, please return the trash bins to their proper place.

Parking

There are two parking spots in the driveway. Additional parking will be on the street (first come, first served) including the culdesac at the end of the street.

Security

The community on average is a bit older with a lot of empty-nesters and retirees. It is a gated community tucked away from high traffic. There are four cameras; two located in the front and two in the back. This allows us to keep an eye on the condition of the hot tub and both the front an back yards for any maintenance needs.

Temperature Control

There are three temperature zones within the residence. (1) The master bedroom has its own thermostat to control the environment within the master suite area. (2) The main floor thermostat controls the kitchen, living room, and front bedroom areas. (3) The upstairs living room area has a thermostat to control the entire upstairs. The thermostats are each set to eco-friendly levels that can be viewed while looking at the thermostat. The heating and cooling will kick on if it drops below or rises above those set temperatures. You are welcome to temporarily set the temperatures to make you comfortable to your own liking (see video guide to learn how to use the thermostat). The pre-set temperatures will automatically revert to the eco-friendly levels at 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM.

For Your Convenience

  • You are free to buy your groceries and use the kitchen with the appliances as you need. Note that there are spices and other cooking basics stored in cupboards that you are welcome to use supplementing your groceries.

  • The office area is upstairs that includes two large monitors you can hook up to your computer, a printer, and incidental office supplies.

  • Access to cleaning supplies and restocking supplies are located in the pantry area. We will have the property manager restock items on a monthly basis.

  • A complete change-set of sheets are located under the bathroom sinks if needed during your stay. Extra blankets and pillows can be found in the front bedroom closet.
